Barnsley IT company appoints account manager
29 June 2015
Ross Hammond has joined Barnsley company, IT Desk UK, as its new account manager.
Ross, from Worksop, previously worked as business development manager for a call centre in Sheffield.
His key role at IT Desk will be to look after existing customers and generate new business.
Ross said: “I’m very excited to be joining such a great team of people, and hopefully helping them to expand.
“Getting new business is all about being able to talk to someone and identify that there is a need for your services. IT Desk has a lot of success in the engineering sector in South Yorkshire, so it makes sense to concentrate on that area. But I will also be looking at companies further afield.”
Ross’ boss, IT Desk managing director Chris Wright, said: “It’s great to have Ross on board.
“He has strong sales experience and we are looking forward to working with him to develop a new client base.
“A lot of our work comes through recommendation and our clients really appreciate the fact that we are available 24/7 to look after their IT needs.”
IT Desk, based in Goldthorpe, offers a range of IT support packages and specialises in proactive IT support including remote monitoring of IT systems. This allows the company to respond to problems promptly and sort out any issues over the phone, via remote assistance or through on-site support.
In his spare time Ross plays guitar with a Sheffield-based band called Back to Verona who will be appearing at the Tramlines Festival in July. He has just returned from Barbados, where he was part of the service crew for the Tomlinson motorsport team in the Sol Rally Barbados, the Caribbean’s biggest annual international motorsport event.
