Free legal event for Barnsley businesses
11 January 2011
Businesses in Barnsley are being offered free advice on employment law from a top expert.
The advice will be accompanied by the chance to network at an event on January 25organised by Enterprising Barnsley
The free event at the Barnsley Business and Innovation Centre, at Wilthorpe, is part of a series aimed at helping firms in the borough. The main speaker will be Jay Bhayani, a senior partner at Watson Esam Solicitors and head of its employment department.
Jay was winner of the Yorkshire Lawyer Award Employment Lawyer 2005 and she was shortlisted for the Yorkshire and Humberside Institute of Directors Advisor of the Year Award 2007.
The session will cover topics including understanding legal obligations, avoiding employment tribunal claims and forthcoming changes to employment law.
Organiser Judy Sidebottom said: “We have been listening to what businesses in Barnsley want and as a result of their feedback we are offering events on HR-related issues.
“We are getting really top quality people to speak at our events, which are proving very popular. Not only are they a chance to get some advice, but also to meet other business people in the borough.”
The Employment Law Update event runs from 12pm and 2pm on Tuesday January 25 and there will be the chance to network at a buffet lunch. To book go to http://hrnetwork2.eventbrite.com/
