Yorkshire recruitment agency plans expansion in 2016 after busiest year yet
4 January 2016
A specialist recruitment agency aims to create new jobs and grow its business by 30 per cent in 2016 – after a record breaking year.
Provide Education, which has branch offices in Barnsley, Brighouse and Worksop, works with around 2,200 teachers helping them to find supply teaching posts - and sometimes permanent jobs - in hundreds of schools across the region.
The company, established in 2007, saw its turnover increase by a 75 per cent in 2015 - and in November it placed a record number of teachers in to classrooms.
Director and co-founder of Provide Education Barry Simmons said: “Following year on year growth for nine years, our workload increased phenomenally in 2015. We took more than 500 calls to get teachers in to classrooms and provide vital cover for lessons in November – and that made it our busiest month ever.
“We can only see our business growing again as we enter our tenth year because we are working with more and more schools across Yorkshire and the East Midlands.
“And this next term is traditionally the busiest time of year too, as schools prepare for tests and exams and need extra teaching support. We look forward to expanding again to meet demand.”
In the last 12 months Provide Education extended its reach to schools in Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire and also secured an agreement with Leeds LEA which enables the agency to work with schools in Leeds for the first time.
The agency’s priority for 2016 is to sign up 30 per cent more teachers to its books to fill short and long-term vacancies; many in primary education and also in maths, English and science teaching at secondary school level.
Provide also plans to create at least three new jobs to expand its 18-strong workforce across its three branch offices.
In the last year Provide, whose headquarters are in Barnsley, recruited five new people to its staff and the company moved to larger branch offices at Thornhill Brigg Mills in Brighouse and also doubled the size of its office space at Shireoaks’ Triangle Business Park in Worksop.
Provide Education started working with 30 schools when former teacher Barry and co-founder Katie Buckle, a recruitment specialist, set the company up in 2006. Now celebrating its tenth year, the agency works with about 500 schools.
The company aims to provide an effective two-way service helping schools in to fill positions quickly and safely and supporting teachers and other education sector staff to find jobs that suit them perfectly.
Every new candidate joining Provide Education has a face-to-face interview with one of the company’s consultants to ensure thorough vetting procedures and paperwork is carried out and the candidate can discuss what kind of jobs and schools would suit them best. The company then provides on-going support, training and development.
Barry said: “We firmly believe our sustained growth, and steep rise in demand this year, is down to our growing reputation and our clients’ confidence in our standards of service and robust employment procedures. We have built strong relationships with both job candidates and schools and are committed to supporting the education sector.”
Provide Education also actively supports the schools it works with through initiatives such as corporate sponsorship of football kits and attendance reward schemes; plus donations to fundraising raffles, school fairs and events.
