A business consultant who offers advice to Barnsley businesses has won a prestigious national award.
Malcolm Cooper, of Penistone, was named Consultant of the Year 2010 by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
Malcolm runs Malcolm Cooper Associates Limited, which gives advice to private sector businesses and to the further education sector. He also acts as a business coach for Enterprising Barnsley, which offers free support for eligible businesses in the borough.
The CIMA Consultant of the Year award was for Malcolm’s work in helping managers at Bicton College in Devon. It was presented by TV personality Hugh Dennis at a ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
Winners in other categories included Tescos, Unilever, Capita, Network Rail and BSkyB.
Martin Beasley, programme manager for Enterprising Barnsley, said it showed the high calibre of coaches available to support Barnsley businesses.
