Barnsley businesswomen urged to work together
15 October 2010
Barnsley businesswomen are being encouraged to attend a free networking event to see how they can work together to become more successful.
Enterprising Barnsley is inviting any women connected with business to come along to the event on Friday 22nd at the Barnsley Business and Innovation Centre (BBIC) at Wilthorpe.
Organiser Sharon Marshall said previous networking events had led to women collaborating on business ventures and sharing best practice.
“It’s great to see a roomful of women from diverse businesses helping each other overcome barriers and encourage each other.
“It seems women are perhaps more willing to work together than men, who maybe just are a bit more competitive,” said Sharon.
Businesswomen attending will have the chance to take part in group business coaching and network with others.
The event is one of several organised by Enterprising Barnsley as part of its programme of support for Barnsley businesses with growth potential.
Enterprising Barnsley has attracted £2.89m investment from the European Regional Development Fund as part of Europe’s support for the region’s economic development through the Yorkshire and Humber ERDF Programme. Enterprising Barnsley also provides office space throughout the borough and coaching for eligible businesses.
