Peoplesafe to exhibit at transport industry conference

13 May 2015

Lone worker experts Peoplesafe are to exhibit at the Microlise Transport Conference this month.

Peoplesafe, which has its headquarters in Yorkshire, is one of the UK’s leading providers of lone worker equipment, monitoring services and safety training aimed at keeping employees as safe as possible.

Its clients include a range of major retailers, house builders and facilities management companies.

Ian Johannessen, managing director of Peoplesafe, said: “Transport workers are often on their own for long periods of time and that can make them vulnerable if employers do not take their responsibilities seriously.

“Out of site does not mean out of mind. Employers have a duty of care to employees, wherever they are.”

It’s estimated 6.8 million people spend all or part of their working day alone. They include lorry and delivery drivers, social workers, shop assistants and farm workers.

Peoplesafe offers a range of products that are suitable for use by the transport industry, including the Identicom 877, which looks like an identity badge, but incorporates GPS and an alarm button connected to a 24/7 monitoring centre; the waterproof Twig device that incorporates a man-down facility, and the Defender smartphone, which is one of the toughest phones available.

The Microlise Conference is on May 20 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Speakers include Richard Burnett, chief executive of the Road Haulage Association; Caroline Hicks, of the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, and David Wells, of the Freight Transport Association.
