Brighouse recruitment agency rewards charitable schoolgirl

23 November 2016

A Brighouse-based recruitment agency has rewarded a schoolgirl for donating her hair to charity.

Provide Education presented Gracie O’Donnell, a year five pupil at Low Ash Primary School in Shipley, with a hamper of goodies after the youngster cut 20 inches from her hair to give to the Little Princess Trust.

Her donation will go on to become a 'real hair wig' for a child suffering from hair loss, either due to cancer treatment or alopecia. She also raised £555 in sponsorship, which will go towards the cost of making the wig.

Nic Sykes, education consultant at Provide Education, which are based at Thornhill Brigg Mills, visited Gracie at the school to present her with the gifts. The company chose to recognise her efforts to mark World Kindness Day, which took place on 13th November.

Nic said: “Gracie was inspired to make this donation after hearing of the work the Little Princess Trust does, and the positive impact it makes to the lives of children going through such a difficult time.

“When we heard about what she’d done, we were really impressed and wanted to reward her in some way. It’s lovely to be part of this wonderful story.”

Provide Education works with schools and children’s centres to provide emergency same-day cover and planned supply services.
