Capital B Media wins industry award

23 November 2018

Capital B Media collected the gold award in the Arts, Culture or Sport category at last night’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards for Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The award recognised Capital B Media’s work with Barnsley Museums to launch a nationwide search for a 21st century miller at Worsbrough Mill in Barnsley.

Capital B Media, based in Millhouse Green near Penistone in Barnsley, beat off stiff competition from Huddersfield Town Football Club and York Minster to win the award at the ceremony at the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds.

Director of Capital B Media Kate Betts said: “I am proud that we have won this award. It is recognition of the hard work of the brilliant team at Capital B Media and comes near the end of what has been a great year for us. We’re looking forward to moving into 2019 with this new award under our belt and a growing team of PR professionals.”

Capital B Media was also shortlisted for Best Publication and Low Budget Campaign.

The CIPR Pride Awards received nearly 1,000 entries from public relations teams, consultancies and individuals across the UK.

Capital B Media was set up by former BBC journalist Kate Betts in 2006 and offers communications services including media relations, social media management, video production, copywriting, media training and crisis communications support.

It has built up a portfolio of clients from the public, private and third sectors, across the north and the UK.
