New signs unveiled at South Yorkshire railways

New signs have been unveiled at South Yorkshire railways which display information on the history and wildlife of the area.
The Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership (DVLP) has installed eight new signs at Elsecar, Bolton upon Dearne, Wombwell, Thurnscoe, Goldthorpe, Mexborough, Swinton and Conisbrough railway stations.
The signs provide information for railway users on the history of the area, things to do and station wildlife, as well as promoting nearby visitor attractions including Thurnscoe Memorial Park, RSPB Old Moor, Elsecar Heritage Centre and Conisbrough Mill Piece.
The project has received funding from Northern and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Northern are working with local communities to form station adoption groups to maintain and look after the green spaces around the railways.
