RNN Group urges school leavers to consider apprenticeships

Local education and training provider, RNN Group, is urging school leavers to consider apprenticeships after the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) yesterday (5 July) revealed rising student debt levels.
According to the IFS, university students in England will graduate with average debts of £50,800, after interest rates are raised on student loans to 6.1%. Those from the poorest backgrounds will also be worse off, owing over £57,000.
RNN Training, the Group’s apprenticeship and business training organisation, currently trains 4,000 apprentices annually across its three colleges - Rotherham College, Dearne Valley College and North Notts College, helping to upskill workforces and support economic growth in South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire.
Deputy Principal of the RNN Group, Philip Sayles, said: “School leavers may feel at a crossroads after finishing their A-levels as they weigh up their options and decide what career path is right for them. It’s one of the most important decisions they’ll ever make, so it’s crucial that they are aware of all the possible routes into employment.
